Zoom Survey
Thuro Inc. utilizes remote zoom television cameras for inspecting underground sewers and pipelines. The camera is a self-contained unit containing its own light source, which is lowered into the manhole on a telescopic boom from the TV truck. The inspection results can be video recorded and noted in a log report. The entire manhole can be inspected as it is lowered and rotated.
Once the camera head is inline with the pipe, we zoom in, giving the view as if the camera was traveling down the pipe. The zoom position, focus and iris are all operator controlled. We then can determine the condition of the pipeline and prescribe cost effective actions to improve the conditions of the pipeline.
There are many advantages to the zoom survey; No prior cleaning is required, no manhole entry is required, and the survey quickly identifies sections that need to be cleaned. The survey has been found to identify up to 70% of all defects that can be found within +/- 15 meters of each manhole.
